Words Garcia Puevos has heard his entire life. But few know the demons lurking inside. As a Missoula Montana smokejumper, he’s used to dangerous situations, looking death in the eye more than once. But nothing excites him any longer, the darkness within threatening to derail his life.

Laney Cavenaugh has been running for so long she’s unsure of who she is any longer. But she adores her life in Missoula, including teaching at a local elementary school. After her past seems to catch up with her, she contemplates leaving everything she holds precious. Distraught, she runs off the road, realizing she needs a hero.

When she meets a gorgeous man who comes to her rescue, sparks fly. However, allowing him into her sordid world is a bad idea. Yet with every dashing smile, every savage touch, she hungers for what only her savior can provide – dark and dangerous passion. Then her past creates a wildfire neither can ignore, arson threatening lives and property. The moment her former life is revealed, she realizes her rugged hero will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
